I merely had to put on the tires, thread the line, and fill it with oil, then gas. Inserting the spiral line was not hard. I had debated about buying the easy replacement thread head at extra cost. I am glad I did not. I do not need it. The manual start engine roared on the second pull. The trimmer cut a wide swath. The wheels allow easy maneuverability. This product makes trimming very easy. Rating A light powerful machine which always starts on the first pull. It was a revelation for cleaning up irrigation pipe and windbreak unwanted growth. A wonderful piece of equipment I would give it 5 stars except I could not get the mower ball off to. So I used it with the standard line holder and it worked terrific. The line was pretty easy to install when wet and using a little help from pliers. It was lightweight, efficient and easy to use. I have been given help by a very caring person from DR tech support. I will try her suggested method next job, but the line change is not as challenging as one of the earlier reviews made it sound.
